Since moving to Hong Kong from Manila, my fascination gradually shifted from the West to the East. I rediscovered the East and absorbed its culture. The primordial concepts of Yin and Yang play a vital role in my approach to interior design.
Here in the Far East, one has to be sensitive to the principles of feng shui when working on design projects. I try to balance the tangible and intangible aspects of a space to create a positive environment that is beneficial both materially and spiritually.
Space is the last frontier of luxury. Mine is an exercise in developing, expanding and enhancing space through psychological and physical means.
Chinese landscape paintings influenced my spatial perception. My interiors play with solids and voids to produce a movement to the looking eye. There is a natural flow and rhythm in this movement.
Fads and fashion do not concern me, only timelessness. The sense of "now and always," is a permanent fixture in my mind when I tackle a design project. I believe in "less is more."
