To harmonize with the materials used in this bathroom, I massed blue and purple vandas and dendrobiums with some light yellow and white cattleyas. To compliment the scale of the arrangement, I placed a carved white marble shell below. It is important to be selective with objects we put beside an arrangement. They should enhance not compete.

On top of an upstand separating the bathtub and the water closet, a mass of assorted silk orchids in a tall ceramic vase adds a luxurious touch to this bathroom. The height and volume of the arrangement serve as a visual divider. It also softens the break of the bluish mirror with the white marble.

Balancing the scale of the round mirror, I made a broad silk arrangement for a niche designed for it. Pale pink anthuriums and assorted mauve colored flowers are arranged in a basic black ceramic vase. I used an unobtrusive halogen lamp as uplights to highlight the arrangement.
