In this Las Vegas dining room which I designed recently, I was given a very insignificant looking wooden bowl to work with. Here, I made a low arrangement shaped to quietly blend with the other elements in the room. The bulol ricegod sculpture from the Philippines and the large oil painting resonates with curvilinear lines which I continued in the shape of the arrangement. It looks subtle and modern. To make the plain looking wooden bowl look chic, I gave it an acrylic stand. Aside from the overhead spot, the arrangement is also lighted from below showing the interesting underside finish of the bowl.

In the same dining room above, I arranged a mass of white and purple phalaeonopsis orchids for the buffet table top. A group of ancient bronze vessels from Thailand echo the shape of the antique earthenware from the Philippines used here as container. The look of the arrangement is simple yet luxurious.
