On January 1995, to celebrate the Chinese New Year or Spring Festival, Beijing Telecommunication Administration (BTA) and Hong Kong Telecom co-issued this set of cards. This 4-card set features 4 seasons of the year taken from the classic "Tianjin Liu Qing New Year Pictures." This exquisite artworks were first printed during the Ming Dynasty. The children depicted in the designs echoes the Chinese traditional belief that the more children one has the happier one is. The logo of BTA and HK Telecom appears in the border of each card. Issued April 1995. On Dec. 12 1895, audiences in Paris witnessed the first motion picture show in the history. Arrivée d´un Train en Gare (Arrival of a Train at La Ciotat). A year later, the cinema was introduced to Hong Kong in 1896. From that point on, the city has evolved to become the movie center of the Far East and the third largest producer of films in the world. Issued June 1995 as part of the celebrations to commemorate the Centennial of Cinema and to pay tribute to HK movie industry achievers, Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK), with the support of the Hong Kong Telecom organized the "Most Memorable Local Film Production Polling" from 27 April to 6 May 1995. This card set displays the ten most memorable local film as voted by the public. The HK$100 phonecard portraying Bruce Lee in one of his most memorable film, is complimented by nine limited edition cards (not phonecards), a thematic brochure filled with rare photos of early HK cinema as well as quotes from industry pundits regarding their most cherished thoughts on the selected movies (all text in Chinese).
